The school offers courses in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, art theory, and new genres such as performance art and non-studio work. Art majors at UCLA must take at least one foundation course in all areas, and then advanced level classes in areas of your choosing. UCLA is a research university, so in addition to studio work, students study the historic and scholarly aspects of the art they create. Students can collaborate with professors, an d this year an adjunct professor at UCLA created an installation for Coachella.  Penn: Penn’s school of arts and sciences offers a fine arts major with studio classes in the areas of animation and 3D modeling, ceramics, design, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. In addition to the studio classes, the curriculum focuses on contemporary art, creative research, interactive design, and public art. The school is big on connecting students with professionals that currently work in the field, so visiting artists often join seminars on campus. Yale: Yale’s art offerings run the gamut, and student choose from one of the following concentrations: graphic design, printing/printmaking, photography, sculpture, or filmmaking. What’s unique about the program is that, with the permission of the program director, students can repeat courses (for credit) if they want to. And apparently, a lot of students do that. As a senior, you’ll present your own exhibition in the on-campus gallery and write a 2,500 word statement defining your artistic style.  Rice University: At Rice, you can pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Dramatic Arts. There are t hree concentrations to choose from: film and photography; studio art; and theater. Rice is in Houston, which the students love because the art scene in Houston is not nearly as developed as say, New York City, so it can be more welcoming to newcomers. The school has its own cinema and campus is walking distance from Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts and the Contemporary Arts Museum. Students partake in field trips, attend guest lectures, and put on their own exhibitions. Williams: The W.L.S. Spencer Studio Art Building at Williams is a popular hang out spot for studio art majors at Williams. According to Williams, it’s a place where creativity can flow freely. There are classrooms, studios, office hours, and the Wilde Gallery â€" which is the student exhibition space on campus. There will be some art history classes peppered into the studio art concentration course load, but studio art students primarily focus on their creation of their own work. Bates: The Art and Visual Culture ma jor at Bates offers studio classes along with classes about the intersection of art, architecture, visual culture, and material culture. In economics and finance, the term discount rate could mean one of two things, depending on context. On the one hand, it is the  interest rate at which an agent discounts future events in preferences in a multi-period model, which can be contrasted with the phrase  discount factor. On the other, it means the rate at which United States  banks can borrow from the Federal Reserve. For the purpose of this article, we will focus on the discount rate as it applies to present value — in a discrete time model of business interests, where agents discount the future by a factor of b, one finds that the rate is equal to the difference of one minus b divided by b, which can be written r(1-b)/b. This discount rate is essential to calculating the discounted cash flow of a company, which is used to determine how much a series of cash flows in the future is worth as a lump sum total today. In practical application, the discount rate can be a useful tool for investors to determine the potential value of certain businesses and investments who have an expected cash flow in the future. Time, Value, and Uncertainty Risk In order to determine the current value of future cash flow, which is essentially the point of applying the discount rate to business endeavors, one must first evaluate the time value of money and the uncertainty risk wherein a lower discount rate would imply lower uncertainty the higher the present value of future cash flow. The time value of money is different in the future because inflation causes cash flow tomorrow to not be worth as much as cash flow is today, from the perspective of today; essentially this means that your dollar today will not be able to buy as much in the future as it could today. The uncertainty risk factor, on the other hand, exists because all prediction models have a level of uncertainty  to their predictions. Even the best financial analysts cannot fully predict unforeseen events in a companys future like decreases in cash flow from a market collapse. As a result of this uncertainty as it relates to the certainty of the value of cash presently, we must discount future cash flows in order to properly account for the risk a business makes in waiting to receive that cash flow. The Federal Reserve's Discount Rate In the United States, the U.S. Federal Reserve controls the discount rate, which is the interest rate for the Federal Reserve charges commercial banks on loans they receive. The Federal Reserves discount rate is broken into three discount window programs: primary credit, secondary credit, and season credit, each with its own interest rate. Primary credit programs are reserved for commercial banks in high standings with the Reserve as these loans are typically only given for a very short time (typically overnight). For those institutions not eligible for this program, the secondary credit program can be used to finance short-term needs or resolve financial difficulties; for those with financial needs that vary throughout the year, such as banks near summer getaways or large farms that only harvest twice a year, seasonal credit programs are also available. According to  the Federal Reserves website, The discount rate charged for primary credit (the primary credit rate) is set above the usual level of short-term market interest rates... The discount rate on secondary credit is above the rate on primary credit... The discount rate for seasonal credit is an average of selected market rates. Since the happiness derived through materialistic objects seems to cease after some time, the article rightly concludes that continuous challenges, interruptions and obstacles are highly important to ensure the long-lasting impact of happiness. Another important supporting idea regarding the nature of happiness introduced here, is that the apprehension of happy moments bring greater satisfaction that the actual pursuit of the same (Dunn et al.). Thus this argument of deferred gratification also goes to prove that happiness is essentially a matter of the mind, which is best achieved when experienced rather than being begotten. Further, the role of experience in the gratification of mind has also been reinforced, as the article rightly states that an individual derives greater pleasure by helping other people, or feeding the, rather than buying food for himself (Sunstein). Now, since the article reinforces the importance of experience in bringing about happiness in life, it also states the importance of giving out money, and helping other people, instead of spending the same for self-gratification. Besides, the article also states that a person can create happiness for himself by doing new things and travelling to new places, rather than buying expensive things. Happiness implies a spiritual awakening of the mind, not a mere pursuit of materialistic objects. However, even though the central argument is indeed true in highlighting the importance of experience, it should also be noted that such arguments are challengeable. Happiness in itself is inherently a subjective concept that varies from one individual to the other, and hence even a shy man can be happy without socializing, or a man who loves to stay at home, may not wish to go out for enjoying adventures, and still stay happy. A Simple Heart, is the narrative account of one woman’s painfully unrewarding life as a humble and blindly dedicated servant, Felicite. Throughout the story chronicling her life, she suffers a series of heartbreaking losses, but continues to love unconditionally nonetheless. A Simple Heart brings up themes of death and loss, and unquestioning duty and responsibility. It also calls into question conventional religious belief, through, among other things, Felicite’s warship of the parrot, Lou Lou. Felicite represents each of these themes partly in her own ignorance and simplicity and, as a result, it is seemingly difficult to validate the authenticity of her religious experience and views. However, it is this piety that, in the end, affords her contentment with her own life. And in this sense, everyone’s personal religious experiences are expressly unique and genuine, thus proving their legitimacy. Orphaned at a young age, Felicite grows up working on farms until a young man named Theodore courts her. A main theme woven into A Simple Heart is that of loss. Manyh of Felicite’s losses throughout the story are directly connected with death, and therefore death act as the primary vehicle of loss in Felicite’s life. She is orphaned at a very young age by the death of her parents, loses Virginie to illness, her nephew Victor to the sea, Madame Aubaine to Pneumonia, and her parrot, Lou Lou. In addition, while not as a result of death, she loses her first love, Theodore, to abandonment, Paul to society, and is even threatened with the loss of her home upon the death of her master. She has no control over the losses she endures; loss is inevitable. This idea of loss plays into another theme within A Simple Heart- that of unquestioning duty and responsibility. It is Felicite’s simplicity and, at times, her ignorance that allows her to so be so blindly devoted and caring. She works faithfully for little pay, and remains incredibly loyal to Aubain’s family. For example, when she saves Aubaine and her children from a raging bull, she puts her own life in peril without a second thought. She takes no pride in this act, and has not the â€Å"barest suspicion that she had done anything heroic† (1023). She also displays this when she fails to see Virginie before she dies because she feels so strongly about making sure the house is locked and secure before she leaves to see her. Despite her pure heart, it seems that Felicite is never rewarded. This challenges the value of such blind and unshakable devotion in such an unrewarding and oftentimes cruel world. However, Flaubert’s most significant idea presented in this story, one that is intertwined with death and devotion, is his questioning of mystical belief. Felicite’s religious devotion seems arbitrary and indirect. Despite this, it also appears to be quite deep and meaningful to her. The irony lies in the fact that she gains most, if not all, of her religious experience vicariously through Virginie’s own encounters. This first appears when Felicite brings the young girl to her first communion ceremony. When Virginie’s turn came, Felicite leaned forward to see her; and with the imaginativeness of deep and tender feeling it seemed to her that she actually was the child; Virginie’s face became hers, she was dressed in her clothes, it was her heart beating in her breast. As the moment came to open her mouth she closed her eyes and nearly fainted. (1025) When Felicite went early the next morning to receive the communion, â€Å"she took it with devotion, but it did not give her the same exquisite delight† (1026). In this example, is such religious devotion hers, or is it only the young girls? However, who is to decide the legitimacy of Felicites own piety? Could she not have simply been less overwhelmed in this instance than during her first real connection with God; many feelings lose their power as one continues to experience them. If she feels piety genuinely in her heart, regardless of the cause of the emotion, is it not inherently hers? It is. Flaubert also shows his skepticism of religious devotion in Felicite’s simple mind. Perhaps she, an uneducated woman, lacks the logical knowledge to question these feelings and beliefs. For instance, when Felicite visits the dead body of Virginie, â€Å"she kissed them [her eyes] and would not have been immensely surprised if Virginie had opened them again; to minds like hers the supernatural is quite simple† (1030). She also show’s her ignorance when she studies the map with M. Bourais, trying to figure out how far her nephew is out at sea. She asks him to show him the house in which Victor lives, and he throws â€Å"up his arms, sneezed, and laughed immensely: a simplicity like hers was a positive joy. And Felicite did not understand the reason; how could she when she expected, very likely, to see the actual image of her nephew† (1028). Is it simply too convenient for a simple mind, like Felicite’s, to blindly accept such mysticisms. If so, then how can anyone, including those with immense logical knowledge, explain mystical belief? They cannot. Mystical belief is not something that one can explain; it is a sensation that can only be felt deep in a person’s soul and summons an inner consciousness of the supernatural. The question remains: Are Felicite’s moments of grace legitimate, or are they simply a product of her ignorance and forced religious beliefs? Perhaps her most questionable moment is her vision of Lou Lou as Christ. Throughout Flaubert’s writings, it is clear that Felicite worships the parrot. She goes as far as to hang a stained glass portrait of Christ’s Crucifixion directly next to the stuffed birth. She prays to Lou Lou as she would Christ, and even upon her death, she sees the clouds open and a vision of him appears. While it may seem easy to argue that her ignorance and perhaps stupidity allow her to worship this bird, why is it so unbelievable that she does so? Mystical feeling and experience can and should not be so limited. If the feeling is powerful and genuine to Felicite, it is wrong for anyone to challenge her personal moment of spiritual awareness. Furthermore, any religious sentiment or oneness with a higher being should not be challenged, as such experiences are innately unique to every individual. That is the beauty of the unknown; it is up for any interpretation.

Through the journey, Josh Fox had interviewed an estimated number of about 20 individuals who were directly affected by the gas wells; and about 5 experts in the fields of environmental protection, public service, quality specialists, medical practitioner, and representative of the Environmental Protection Agency. The manner by which these individuals and experts provided testimonies to their verbal disclosures viably supported their arguments that since the oil and gas wells were drilled in their respective properties, their drinking water had been seriously contaminated. Aside from relaying the information verbally, most of the testimonies provided pieces of evidence in terms of showing the kind of water collected from their faucets; and even proving that when lit, water from the faucet ignites into flame. Like wise, some of the people who were interviewed explicitly indicated the negative impact of these wells; such as Debbie May who relayed that the drinking water initially tasted like metal and turned into murky brown. In addition, she also showed that her cat and horse exhibited shedding of their hair, as a result of being exposed to these gas wells. Thus, the people who provided verbal discourse were effective in appealing both through logic (through visual support) and emotions (by indicating health hazards and conditions which were experienced); as such, were effective in providing the needed proof to substantiate their allegations that the gas well was detrimental to their lives. Another rhetorical strategy used by Fox was the selection and choice of sound. It was evident that Fox was able to creatively incorporate background music, the sounds of machines, the sounds of the wind or water from the streams, the sound of children playing, and even an intermittent sound of silence. For instance, the documentary started with Fox playing the banjo and the end of the documentary also showed a man playing a musical instrument, which effectively integrates the whole creative work. Also, the sounds of the telephone ringing, the busy tone, and the background music of the answering machine were very effective in relaying the message that the narrator had been trying to collect different people and organizations to set the needed interviews for the documentary. These sounds and background music were all effective in appealing to the emotions of viewers. Sound and music provide an enhancing ability to emphasize an argument or a point being asserted. Likewise, background music, for instance, was instrumental in bridging one completed scene and used to transcend into a new issue or concern. The sounds actually enhanced and emphasized the arguments, as needed. Finally, the narrator also used the rhetorical strategy of visuals. Aside from the scenery and the people who were in terviewed, visuals also included graphics through stating relevant quotes, such as â€Å"water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink† (Moldovan) written in bold, white face and in all capital letters against a totally black background. In addition, graphics assisted in identifying the people who Fox interviewed, some with appropriate designations; such as Dr. Al Armerdariz, the Air Quality Specialist and Researcher at Southern Methodist University; Calvin Tillman, the Mayor of Dish, Texas; Wilma Subra, Chemist, First Responder, and MacArthur â€Å"Genius Award† Recipient; to name a few.

Reviewing Classroom Management Plan Essay In reviewing this classroom management plan, I will be looking at the various elements that make up the plan. Such as the visual environment, physical arrangement, class rules and procedures as well as the types of instruction, communication plan and the teacher’s personal philosophy. Classroom management involves teacher actions to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self- motivation. (Burden 2004) The management plan discusses how the visual environment will be set up to motivate the students to learn by having a star student board. That recognizes the student’s hard work both intellectually and socially. As well as having the walls decorated with posters and student’s artwork. There will also be plants and animals in the classroom that the students will be take care of in order to develop of sense of responsibility. It is important to make your classroom an attractive, comfortable place. (Burden, 2004) Sensory stimulation is another effect of a good classroom setting. For children, it is easier to learn in a very appealing classroom, because the elements of the things that would appeal to the senses are there. Pictures, colors, sound, and so forth. (Furniture, 2008)The physical arrangement is set up in groups so that the students can use it as a work space as well as centers. By putting the desks in group it promotes group cohesiveness as well as helping with behavior management. It also helps students with different learning needs, because students get the help that they need by having their peers and teacher to help them. Having different centers in the classroom is an excellent way to incorporate many skills and concepts, but it is also a great way to target students’ different learning styles. This plan gives students a chance to express their different learning styles. By giving them a chance to work with other students in the book nook area or meet with them on the carpet at different designated times. The arrangement of furniture affects space allocation and space allocation has effects to the learning atmosphere. If the classroom looks narrow and small for students, they feel restricted and they do not interact well. On the other hand, if a classroom provides adequate space, students feel that there is space for interaction. (Furniture, 2008) The room is set up so the high traffic areas are free of congestion and there is plenty of space to be able to move around the room effectively. Some things that you could add to make the classroom more accessible for students in a wheel chair is by maybe adding a ramp outside the class room, and larger work space area for the student to be able work at instead of a traditional desk. The way the desks, tables, and other classroom materials are arranged affects instruction and has an influence on order in the classroom. (Burden, 2004) The plan does not tell how the teacher developed the rules. Ways that you could have the students become involved in the process of making the rules is by asking the students what things that they think should be a rule. Depending on the age of children, the teacher may need to reword the rules in positive way instead of a negative. When teachers collaborate with their students to identify the need for rules and procedures in the classroom it helps to establish an orderly and safe place for learning. When they are given the opportunity to help create the list of rules, students are more motivated to follow them. Students will understand that the rules are meant to keep them safe and help them figure out what to do. Rules are general behavioral standards or expectations that are to be followed in classroom. They are general rules of conduct that are intended to guide individual behavior in an attempt to promote positive interaction and avoid disruptive behavior. (Burden, 2004) For playground and cafeteria behavior the teacher has the students follow the classroom rules. Procedures are approved ways to achieve specific tasks in the classroom. (Burden, 2004) If students know the classroom procedures, the routine runs more smoothly and efficiently and less time is wasted. (Ashbaker, 2006) Establishing classroom procedures and rules helps teachers and students to stay organized. When the students have  clear expectations there are fewer behavior disruptions. Procedures tell students how to perform routine instructional and housekeeping tasks. (Sadlers, 2009) The teacher has set transitions for the students to follow for beginning of the school day, leaving the room, returning to the room and the ending of day. The transitions for starting the day is having the students put a card onto the bulletin board telling what they want for lunch, they will also find out what their job will be for the day. By doing this it teaches the student’s responsibility for making sure that their job gets done and they get to chose what they want for lunch. The students next need to go to their desks and do their morning working which gives all the students time to put their lunch card onto the bulletin board and find out their job. As well as letting the teacher get any last minute things ready for the day of instruction. The students have a set way of leaving the room in which they need to do the appropriate sign language sign for their needs. Then once the teacher acknowledges them, they also need to sign out on the sheet by the door and take the hall pass. When returning to the room the students needs to enter the room quietly and sign back in on the paper and return the hall pass and then return back to their work. By doing this it also forces the student to take responsibility for remembering the right sign language sign and also to make sure that the teacher sees the sign before they can get from their desk. As well as making sure to remember to sign out and sign in and take the hall pass and return the pass when they return back to the room. Transitions are movements from one activity to another. A smooth transition allows one activity to flow into another without any breaks in the delivery of the lesson. To reduce the potential for disorder during transitions, you should prepare students for upcoming transitions, establish efficient transition routines, and clearly define the boundaries for the lessons. (Burden, 2003) The children are taught sign language for the words drinking fountain, sink, and bathroom, which are non-verbal cues that the students can use to let the teacher know of their needs. As well the teacher also uses cues by raising her hand in the air to let children know that the classroom is getting too noisy. The students will then raise their hands as well and put their finger over their lips and immediately stop what they are doing and put their eyes on the teacher. By using sign language as well as other non verbal cues, it is a way for the student as well as the teacher to express themselves without disrupting the class. The teacher states that she will using multiple intelligences to include all learning styles, She will be using a combination of direct instruction, small groups and center to teach the students. There is no mention in the plan of how the teacher creates or delivers her lesson plan. To meet the needs of diverse students, instruction cannot be one-dimensional. By using various methods of instruction it helps each student to reach their academic potential. (Burden, 2004)There is a communication plan set up to keep the teacher, students and parents up to date on the student’s progress. The students will receive feedback on their assignments as well as assignments will be displayed on the front board. Each student will keep track of their assignments in their own personal assignment books. If a student stops completing their assignments then there will be a pink slip that will be sent home to the parent. Which will explain the assignment that was not completed the consequences as well the slip needs to be signed by a parent before sending back to school. There will also be a star bulletin board set up where the teacher will give the student positive feedback. Parent conferences will be held as well as having report cards sent home. This plan help the students receive some positive feedback from their teachers as well as letting them stay up to date on their homework assignments. Although I think this plan needs to include more ways for students as well as parents to receive frequent positive and negative feedback. Providing positive feedback helps the child to feel good about what they have accomplished. As well from negative feedback learn what skill or behavior they need to approved upon. Overall I like this class management plan; I believe Classroom Management is the key component in any educational setting. I believe that if students are in a safe environment, then learning can take place. In this plan the teacher set the tone for the class, by preventing behavior problems with interesting and engaging curriculums and effectively including all students in the classroom so that their needs are met. Having the right environment for all students to learn should be every teacher’s major goal. In order to implement an effective classroom management plan in the classroom, without it the students would not be able to learn. The changes I would make are to include more feedback for students and information on how the rules and lesson plan were developed and implemented. Also let the students have a part in developing the rules, so that will have a better understanding of rules. They also will be more inclined to follow them and the consequences. Another thing that is missing is a behavior system that includes some certain of reward system for the students as well as the classroom for positive behavior and consequences for negative behavior. I would leave everything else the same; I think that the main components of the plan would work well with the needed changes that I have suggested. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafà ©, one of my finest works. Who am I? I am the author Fannie Flagg. I’ve been writing since the fifth grade, when I wrote, produced, directed and starred in a three-act comedy titled â€Å"The Whopee Girls†. It made the audience laugh, but it got me expelled because it had the word â€Å"martini† in it. I’ve always had dry wit. I then entered a Miss Alabama contest winning a scholarship to the Pittsburg Playhouse. I was the only girl who failed ballet. When I was nineteen, I began writing and producing TV specials, and since then I’ve appeared in more 500 TV shows, which include Candid Camera, The Dick van Dyke Show, The Love Boat, Love American Style, and movies like Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson, Stay Hungry, Grease. I am currently finishing a few new movies such as Flying By and Shattered Glory both of which are coming out in 2009. I was in Broadway too! I was in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas! I’ve written several books such as Standing in the Rainbow in 2002, and my newest book Can’t Wait to get to Heaven, in 2006. I now live in Montecito, California. So about my book, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafà ©, well the theme is mainly feminism and a little bit of my gay pride, (you’ll see when you meet Idgie.). The setting starts out in the nursing home where, Mrs. Cleo Threadgoode, the long-time resident of Whistle Stop, tells Mrs. Evelyn Couch all about her life starting in the year 1929, and the little town of Whistle Stop. Now I will tell you all about the rest of my book in the eyes of my most important character, Mrs. Cleo Threadgoode. My name is Mrs. Cleo Threadgoode, and I live at Rose Terrace Nursing Home. I am 86 years old. I have just made a new friend, and her name is Mrs. Evelyn Couch. She came into the visitors lounge and I started talking right to her. I’ll tell you what I told her too. In fact I’ll even tell you the whole story. It all starts out in Whistle Stop, 1929.

Handphones have become a major part of our lives. Today, it is being widely used all over the world. Most of us, that is. It has metamorphosized from being a luxury to necessity for some of us. Handphones are one of the things that we cannot do without, for one reason or another. We have come to depend on it, increasingly so, and in doing so it has become a need. Having handphones can prove to be very useful but it can also be said otherwise. There are both advantages and disadvantages to owning a handphone or being in the midst of people who own them. Owning a handphone means one can be easily reached when on the road or when one is not at home or in the office. It can even be used when one is overseas, using the ROAM service. There are features such as voice messages and SMS, in other words, Short Message Service. This is to allow people to contact a handphone owner even if he is busy or is unable take the call. These features enable the owner of the phone to know why he is being called, so on and so forth. SMS-es help to keep it short. Without calling, you can leave a short message. Nowadays though, people use it to have conversations, especially the young, and those who find it easier to message than to talk. It is also cheaper and thus allows one to save on talk time. Another advantage would be that of being able to call whenever and wherever there is an emergency, for example when you are in a road accident or you need to call someone and there does not seem to be any public phones nearby. There are also different mobile service plans to choose from to suit one’s communication needs, be it longer talk time, free incoming or outgoing calls, or more free local SMS. As such, one can reap much benefits and save costs. Nowadays, handphones rarely just have one function, which is to make and receive calls. There are more functions and features such as listening to music, taking pictures with an in-built camera, playing games, and even logging on the internet and etc. There are also disadvantages that come along with the usage of handphones. Firstly, there are limitations to where a handphone can be used. If there were no reception, then there would be no possibility of making or receiving calls. On another note, a person can say he is at a certain place when in fact he s somewhere else. So, you can never be too sure of where a person  might actually be. User-abuse is another factor. Here, what is meant by user-abuse is the fact that some users are not considerate in that they make use of the phone in places where it is not allowed. As such they disturb others. It is one thing to let it ring loudly, but yet another, to be answering the phone. For example, in movie theatres, plays and the like. It is said that there are dangers of handphone radiation, though there is no conclusive evidence to prove a link between cancer and handphone radiation. Lastly, handphones cannot be used in most parts of hospitals as it could affect the readings on the equipments due to the radiation emitted and would pose as great danger to the patients.

Vietnam Research Paper In my foods class we learned about Vietnam, and made lemongrass chicken curry to share with the class. To have a better understanding of the country, it’s culture, and to recognize why the recipe was written the way it was, we researched about Vietnam. The country is located along the South China Sea. However it’s capital, Hanoi, has coastal areas along the Gulf of Tonkin and some of it’s southernmost cities are located adjacent to the Gulf of Thailand. Vietnam has many neighbors, such as Cambodia, Laos, China, and Thailand. Although it isn’t very a very wide country, it takes up enough space vertically to make it roughly the size of Germany. Vietnam is most known for it’s production of rice. Before the civil war; or the Vietnam war as it’s known in the US, it was mostly an agricultural country. However the tech industry is growing fast as the country continues to rebuild. Also, Vietnam recently became a member of the oil industry, and has become the third largest in Southern Asia. Vietnam’s poverty rate has been steadily declining over time. Now, it has a lower rate than many of its neighboring countries; including the Philippines, China, and India. From these new expansions to the country, Vietnam will most likely have the 17th largest economy by 2025. The most widely known dish from Vietnam is Phá »Å¸. It is a noodle bowl that is usually made with rice noodles, but sometime egg noodles can also be substituted. A popular way to eat it is to order it with thin strips of raw beef, which you put under the noodles. The soup is so hot that it cooks the beef into tender pieces. Phá »Å¸ restaurants can be found throughout the US, and just about everywhere else too. It is a great way to eat out, as it is very inexpensive but very delicious.
